On May 1, 2008, Donal Quinn was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Diagnostics Division of the Siemens Healthcare Sector.
Quinn earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Cork University in Ireland in 1976. He continued his studies to become a Chartered Management Accountant and was subsequently awarded a fellowship of the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants (F.C.M.A.) in the UK.
Donal Quinn has enjoyed a long and successful career in the healthcare industry. After serving as a controller for Abbott Laboratories, Ireland, in the late 1970s, Quinn worked sixteen years for Mallinckrodt Medical, a medical device company based in Hennef, Germany, becoming the Global President of its respiratory hospital business.
In 1998, Quinn joined Dade Behring in Deerfield, Illinois, USA, as Group President, Biology, and became President, Europe Middle East and Africa in the following year with responsibility for all commercial operations within those regions. Two years later he took over the role of President, International, responsible for all commercial operations outside of the U.S. and Canada, and two years later, he became President, Global Customer Management. In 2007, Quinn assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer of Dade Behring with global responsibility for sales, service, marketing, and logistics.
Prior to his appointment as CEO of the Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Division in 2008, Quinn had served as Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer of this Division since November 2007.
Donal is married to Eileen and they have three grown up children, Martin, Breedge, and Arlene.
