Siemens Medical Solutions demonstrated its commitment to radiation oncology at the 2006 American Society of Therapeutic Radiology (ASTRO) through its Oncology Workflow Solutions and Proven Outcomes that support the continuum of oncology care.

This press kit includes information and images related to innovations presented at ASTRO, such as:

• The PRIMATOM™ System, a unique image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) solution that combines a Siemens linear accelerator with a SOMATOM® CT scanner with sliding gantry to enable visualization of treatment structures before treatment to ensure correct patient positioning.
• MVision™, Siemens’ signature megavoltage cone beam (MVCB) IGRT solution and first commercial implementation of cone beam technology utilizing a standard radiotherapy treatment beam. MVision makes it possible for the megavoltage (MV) source used for treatment to also create a 3D image of the patient.
• syngo® Suite for Oncology, which integrates imaging, data, and user management functions of the principle users in radiation oncology departments to provide optimal workflow.
