Society of Nuclear Medicine (SNM) 2007
Highlights at this year’s SNM include:
• PET•CT
Siemens exhibited a major new enhancement to its Biograph® TruePoint PET•CT line of scanners: HD•PET, the world's first and only high definition PET technology to offer consistently sharper and clearly defined images across the entire field of view. Clinical applications, such as >syngoScenium, enable automatic correlation of a patient study with an average brain for assessment of abnormalities.
• SPECT, SPECT•CT
Enhancements to Siemens’ Symbia line of SPECT and SPECT•CT imagers will illustrate improved diagnostic outcomes for coronary artery disease and greater flexibility in hybrid imaging techniques.
• Biomarker Development
After the opening of Siemens Medical Solutions Molecular Imaging biomarker facility in Los Angeles, and after the signing of research collaborations with Wyeth and the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, Siemens discussed its plans to further the clinical development and validation of novel imaging biomarkers for a range of diseases like Alzheimer’s and cancer.
This press kit provides news and background information on how Siemens molecular imaging technologies are helping physicians detect diseases earlier, monitor treatments more effectively and devise personalized therapies.
