Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics SHOWCASES AT CLMA THINKLAB 2007

The First Full-Service Diagnostic Company is Setting New Standards in Diagnostic Workflow Efficiency, Flexibility and Reliability

HOUSTON, March 25, 2007 ― Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics will showcase its broad portfolio of diagnostic solutions for the first time at the annual Clinical Laboratory Managers Association (CLMA) Conference and Exhibition from March 24 -27 in Houston, Texas (booth #821 and RV location at #550).

In mid-2006 and early 2007, Siemens Medical Solutions entered the in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) market with its acquisition of Diagnostic Products Corporation (DPC) and Bayer Diagnostics. The new business, Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. employs more than 8,000 people worldwide and leverages the strengths of all three companies to improve operational and financial outcomes for customers and patients across the continuum of care.

“CLMA provides us with a perfect opportunity to showcase our products and to connect with the professionals we serve in the clinical laboratory industry,” said Tony Bihl, Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics CEO. “I encourage people to join us to see how our full-service diagnostics approach is shaping the future of the modern laboratory.”

Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics has an extensive portfolio of diagnostic analyzers for assessing and managing health in a myriad of disease states, including cardiovascular, kidney and infectious diseases, HIV, oncology, diabetes and virology. Key business areas include: laboratory testing and laboratory automation, enhancing the ability to detect, monitor and manage disease as well as point-of-care systems for urinalysis, blood gas and diabetes testing.

The First Full Service Diagnostic Company
As part of Siemens Medical Solutions, Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics is in the unique position to offer laboratory diagnostics, diagnostic imaging and clinical information under one roof. The company is working to deliver solutions that support early detection, enable diagnosis with in-vitro and in-vivo testing, and help to monitor treatment progress. Siemens customers worldwide continue to have access to the ADVIA, VERSANT, TRUGENE and IMMULITE portfolio of products, which can be offered integrated or as stand-alone placements. By adding innovative IT capabilities, the company can help customers manage costs and optimize workflow.
