Target Capture System

The Target Capture System (TCS) simplifies sample processing and separation, eliminating tedious extraction steps and minimizing waste. The TCS isolates the target analyte from sample lysates using magnetic separation, and washes away unbound material. This target capture step takes only a few minutes, regardless of the number of samples processed. The system's design - one tube and one tip per sample - limits the number of disposables, reducing waste.

TMA Assay Workflow

To promote optimal performance and prevent contamination, Siemens recommends establishing a work environment that includes unidirectional flow. It is particularly important to separate the pre-amplification and post-amplification steps of the procedure. Ideally, the target capture/sample preparation, amplification, and detection segments of the assay should be assigned dedicated space and equipment.
TMA assays are performed entirely in one tube. Tubes are configured in Ten Tube Units (TTUs) for easy batch processing.

Additionally, TMA operators should observe the following general precautions when performing assays:

  • All workspaces should be kept clean.
  • Change gloves and lab coats between work areas.
